The Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC) in Clarksville, Tennessee, is a collaborative organization of talented local artists and art-loving patrons. Founded in 2001, the Co-op is comprised of 27 Full Artist Members, 16 Consignment Artists, and over 50 Patrons. In 2002, the first exhibit opened at the DAC gallery on the second floor of 103 Franklin Street. In February 2004, DAC moved to a new location at 96 Franklin Street.
The DAC hosts a monthly art walk, where visitors can view artworks from various members of the community. DAC also hosts Extension Galleries at the Clarksville Montgomery County Library and Gateway Hospital. Additionally, DAC hosts gallery talks, lectures, and readings and offers space for other creative groups. The DAC also sponsors a number of local nonprofit organizations and provides meeting space for various arts groups.
